The name Harte is well known throughout the retail industry and is a well established shop equipment company with a reputation for quality and reliability in both its products and service.

It first appeared on the scene in 1973 as a small shop fitting company and specialised in supplying labour to major companies when installation of shelving equipment was required.

The company very quickly recognised a need for timber components such as plinths, end panels etc. Within the next few years they spotted a market niche to provide non mechanical checkouts and became well known for the introduction of the original Trolley to Trolley checkout system.

As the supermarket business developed so did the need for scanning checkouts with belt systems to aid and speed up the checkout operation. Being at the forefront of this trend Harte soon established themselves as a supplier to a number of major retail chains.

This ability to lead the market with innovative new products saw the customer base and product range being developed and Harte firmly establishing itself as a supplier of quality shop equipment.

The introduction of Kiosks, Counters, Display Units and many other products for both food and non food stores allowed the company to expand and yet retain its reputation for quality and service.

Today Harte supplies major retailers throughout the UK & Ireland with occasional work being done in export markets.

The constant need to develop and change over the years has seen the introduction of many new Harte products such as the Eurochek Checkout followed by the curvaceous Ergochek models with ground breaking use of moulded ABS bays and forward reaching Ergonomic criteria. The latest Ergoline models are now being sold throughout the customer base and have obtained a reputation for strength and design appeal.

The company uses the latest technology and equipment in the production of all its products and is working alongside current and new clients to develop new product solutions.
